My task for the 7th season of chapter 2 of Fortnite was to create a satellite dish that is pointed at the giant mother ship in the sky. As the theme was alien invasion it was really cool to build these different satellite bases on the map and theming them to their surroundings whether they are in a swamp, on a cliff or in a jungle. In total there are 7 locations with different layouts to explore.
As usual each POI is a big team effort and I was responsible for the satellite dish modeling and texturing, as well as the creation of the concrete architecture set that was used to build these bases. The set is using trims from and is inspired by Martin Holmberg's work on previous sets as well as inspired by the Helicarrier set from Josh Marlow and Stephanie Ducasse. I worked really closely with Rich Eastwood (Design) and Gervasio Canda (Concept art) to turn these places and satellite dishes into interesting landmarks on the map.
